Mission Building Vision

Back in 2017 God had given the Beckums a vision of building a mission building that could be multi-functional. God opened the door to purchase land in Anse La Raye, St. Lucia,  central point on the island. The building started construction in July, 2019.  It is extremely expensive to build in St. Lucia due to all materials have to be brought in to the island. The building is composed entirely of concrete and has to have concrete beams that are drilled down to bedrock in order to withstand hurricanes and earthquakes. At approximately 7,800 Sq. Ft. building cost are estimates to be $750,000. Currently, approximately $500,000 has been applied to construction cost with a remainder needed of $250,000. We trust God will provide for the vision He has given and will supply all our needs for His glory.

In St. Lucia many gatherings are difficult logistically. There are not many places that can be utilized for fellowship and bible teaching. One of the largest expenses for a mission trip is airfare and housing. Having an affordable place that the St. Lucians can utilize for weekend marriage conference retreats would give a perfect time to teach putting God first in a marriage. It would give  a place where college students can serve for summer internship . The building would provide the opportunity to have a  location for the weekend of youth boys and girls to be able to pour into how much God loves and cares about them. The St. Lucian churches are very excited to have a place to utilize for all these things and so much more. God has only begun to reveal all this building will be used for.

Basement floor

This is the lower floor of the mission building originally that was going to be all storage but due to the amount of space there we are plumbing and wiring it for not only a large storage room but 2 bunk rooms that will have 6 built-in bunks in each room. Each room will also have it's own bathroom.

Main Floor

The main floor of the building has been poured. This was no easy task! The concrete trucks could not make it up the mountain to bring the amount of concrete needed, so they had to park at the bottom of the hill and have smaller trucks carry it up in  loads. They had to do this continuously until all the floor was poured since it has to be poured at one time. This went on all day into the night.

This is the main floor were the kitchen is and lots of tables and sitting space. Bible studies, fellowship, seminars, and many other events will take place on this floor. Many lives will be introduced to Jesus and taught His ways.
