2018 HILLSIDE MISSION TEAM
Hillside Community Church sent a team of 8 to St. Lucia this year. Thank you for your heart of serving the Lord. The impact that you have on the community cannot be measured as you show the love of Christ through your service.
-
BUILDING OF THE SOUND STAGE
The men of the Hillside mission trip team helped to construct the new sound booth. They moved it from the front of the church where it was distracting during service to the back of the church so the church services could run more smoothly without distraction.
-
tHE COMPLETED SOUND STAGE
Thank you Hillside Community Church for the new soundboard. This was much needed since the old one only had a few channels that worked. Now the church services can all be controlled from the back and multiple microphones can work at the same time.
-
CANVASING THE COMMUNITIES
With the youth from Fellowship Baptist, the Hillside team went out to canvas the communities letting them know about Vacation bible school and the youth event later in the week. The opportunity to visit with people in the community and work in conjunction with the youth was amazing.
-
YOUTH OUTREACH COOKOUT
The youth event outreach was a HUGE success! Over 70 youth from all the communities came that evening for an evening full of hot dogs, games and to hear the Word of Christ. The team put on a powerful skit to show that no matter what is going on in their life, Christ is the answer. Very powerful skit. Thank you for your hard work.

vacation bible school
Vacation Bible School was a HUGE success. The theme was learning how to be God's Superhero. There was 167 children from all the surrounding communities that came to VBS. The children learned how to "Do Good, Seek Peace, and Go After it" through God's Word.
-
CASSANDRA TELLS THE VBS STORIES
Cassandra did an amazing job telling the bible stories everyday to the children. She even went with the Superhero theme with her Wonder Woman outfit. The kids loved it. All week they were taught about Samuel anointing David because he has heart, Abigail saving the day by having courage, Jesus going to the temple for wisdom, Beatitudes and having hope then Pentecost and having power.
-
Vacation bible school- crafts
The children love their craft time to go along with their bible stories. They made prayer boxes to write down and keep their prayers, their hero shields of faith, and made head bands to go with their superhero capes that said "Do Good, Seek Peace, and Go after it". It was a sight to see as the children would be taken back home with their superhero capes on through the neighborhoods.
-
vacation bible school- snacks
The women of the church always prepare snacks for the children to make sure they are not going hungry. After the kids have spent hours in vacation bible school learning about Christ the children are hungry. The ladies work hard to make sure that each child is fed at the end of the day.
-
Fellowship on the beach
This has become a tradition when the mission teams come down to have a cook-out on the beach. The team gets to spend more time with individuals getting to know each other and about each others lives and culture.
