Shem Alexander

"As a child I was at church basically every Sunday and I'm grateful that my parents raised me in that manner, however I can't recall ever feeling God's presence till after my teenage years. About 2 years ago I started working in the hospitality industry which requires you to be flexible, ultimately I wouldn't be able to attend church as often as I used to. At that point in time it didn't seem as much of a big deal because I was ignorant to the importance of church and surrounding yourself with other believers. During my time in the hospitality industry I got involved in a lot of worldly activities; alcohol,  drugs just to name a few. I didn't realize how far away I was from God till I started having issues at work and God put on my heart that I should go to church. The Sunday that I finally got a chance to visit was the first time I can recall feeling the presence of God. I felt this peace which is just unexplainable. I grew up with a few of the members at Sea of Hope and they were so loving when I showed up furthermore they're like family to me, it felt like I was finally at home. The believers at Sea of Hope have been crucial to my walk with Christ since and I'm praying that God uses me as an instrument of His will."
